I’ve always had a special love and delight for shoes that started when I was a little girl playing dress up and has lasted to this very day. Naturally when an opening became available on our blog calendar I jumped at the chance to write about wedding shoes! Along with our very own Handmade Bride, Kristin, we pulled together five wedding shoe trends and I’m confident you will find something you absolutely love for your big day.
Color Ka-Pow: I LOVE bright, bold colors! Imagine walking down the aisle in a beautiful ivory gown and a pop of color showing every time you take a step. Coordinate with your florist to include the same bright, bold color in your bouquet.
Left to right: The lemongrass yellow BCBG platform pumps are perfect for summer weddings. My personal favorite are the hot pink Kate Spade Clarice pumps. The rosette detail adds to the glamour of the rsvp heels (zappos.com).
Blingtastic: Going for glamour at your wedding? Be sure to incorporate a little bling with your shoes. Whether an embellishment on the toe or all over design, your special day calls for some added sparkle.
Left to right: Consider wearing platforms like these Kenneth Cole REACTION (endless.com) instead of heels to get the same height, but added comfort. Pack a comfy pair like these Nine West flats (nordstrom.com) to change into for your reception so you can boogie with your guests. Channel Cinderella in these blingtastic Christian Louboutin pumps.
Boho Bold: Break free from tradition if you choose and wear something more comfortable and suited to your taste on your wedding day.
Left to right: If your wedding is country chic select a pair of cowboy boots (bootcity.com). Not only practical, but boots are the perfect contrast to a wedding gown. Comfortable, yet stylish Toms’ ballet flats (toms.com) or J. Crew platforms are perfect for natural, outdoor weddings.
Ultra Flirty: Soft shades of pink and added details of bows or flowers create the feminine ultra flirty trend.
Left to right: A delicate, patterned flower and bold pink stripe make these heels soft and flirty. A chiffon bow is the perfect embellishment for these peep toe pumps (shoes.com). If your ceremony is outside or at the beach consider a pair of elegant sandals for yourself or your bridesmaids.
Runway Chic: Looking for something a little edgy for your walk down the aisle?
