Printing Process:

Thermography - The process involves heat that joins ink and a resin-like powder together. The fusion of the materials results in the appearance of raised letters. This printing process is fast-becoming the most popular choice for invitations, because of its value and quality of appearance. This is the most affordable print process if you are looking for classic, elegant "raised" printing.

Letterpress - Letterpress continues to be one of the hottest trends in stationery.  It's been around for hundreds and hundreds of years. Letterpress is an ancient printing technique that involves printing words or designs with ink while simultaneously debossing the image into thick, soft paper. The letterpress look is elegant, stylish, high-end and nothing short of stunning.

Engraving - The paper is placed on the press face down above the inked plate. It is then printed by pressure coming down on the back of the sheet while the front of the sheet meets with the plate. This "sandwich" effect creates the raised lettering and bruise on the back of the printed paper that are both classic features of engraver.

Foil Stamping -  Printing process that fuses foil to paper. A thin layer of foil is pressed between a piece of paper and a heated die. The image on the die cuts and heats the foil, binding it to the paper. You might be thinking of mylar ballons when you think of the word "foil".  But don't be fooled.  You can find many matte-ink colors such as white or cream, which produces a gorgeous invitation.

Mygatsby was one of the pioneers of the "stacked" enclosure cards!  We created these cards specifically so these accessory cards would complement your invitation stylishly yet with function.

Small Enclosure Card: 4.25"x4.50"

  • This card is typically used as a Reception Card, Ceremony Card, Gift Registry or At-Home Card, or for any "simple" information you might be trying to deliver to your guests.

RSVP card w/ envelope: 4.25"x5.50"

  • RSVP is derived from the French phrase, repondez s'il vous plait, meaning "respond if you please." It is a polite way of requesting a response to the invitation. It allows you to have an accurate guest count and can even help with allowing your guests to choose meal options, or any other information you will require in planning your reception.Mygatsby also nclude your name and return address printed on the envelope (or postcard  for our smaller invitations) to make it easier for invited guests to respond. Traditionally, the sender provides postage, to make it easier for your guests to respond.

Large Enclosure Card: 4.25"x6.50"

  • This card is typically used as a Directions Card, Accommodations Card, or any additional detailed information you might be trying to deliver to your guests.

Additional Matching Accessories

The first ink color you choose is included in the price of your order (invitation, accessory cards and envelopes).  You may choose up to 2 ink colors per printed item (i.e. you can choose black & espresso for your invitation, and then gold & silver for your RSVP card, etc.).  If you use the same 2 ink colors throughout your entire invitation ensemble, you will only be charged once, across all of your printed pieces (i.e. if you choose red & gold for your invitation, RSVP card and outer envelope, you will only be charged once for that 2nd ink color).

Pricing for each additional ink color is as follows:

  • 1st ink:  No charge.  Included in price.
  • 2nd ink:  $30.00 one time charge.  This same ink color may be used across all of your invitation ensemble pieces.
  • 3rd ink and above: $20.00 one time charge for each additional ink color chosen.

*NOTE: If you have selected accessory cards, you may see 1 additional ink color charge in your total.  Don't worry, you can adjust these ink colors accordingly to your preferences when you start customizing your accessory cards.

Customer Reviews

Exceeded our expectations Review by Lovely
The wedding invitations and response cards we ordered exceeded our expectations. we were surprised at how quickly we received them, and they were even prettier than we thought they would be. The pearlized paper is quite beautiful. It has a lot more impact than plain card stock, but it is not flashy or tacky-looking, it's classy. We love them. (Posted on 8/19/2015)

Incredibly Happy Review by rosiechi
My fiance and I couldn't be more satisified with our invitation suite! It was shipped quickly, and the digital representation perfectly matched what we received. Glad to have come across this site! (Posted on 5/3/2015)
Excellent product but very time consuming Review by Looked everywhere
I wanted an elegant invitation without the elegant price tag. I shopped for invitations for about four months in all the stationary stores and on at least 8 sites online. I price compared everything from complete DIY to assembly only packages. I gave this review 5 stars because it is an excellent product.
PROS: The thermography printing is beautiful and it was amazing they even printed my RSVP card with thermography for FREE!

There is a large font selection

The paper is pearlescent and very unique

CONS: It took me over 8 hours to adjust the font to get all my desired wording on the template. One cannot adjust the text boxes, therefore I had to go line by line changing font sizes and spacing individually. I had a somewhat complicated invitation with requirements for listing deceased parents.

Not being able to order additional suite cards without ordering the entire suite

Inability to change font size/font all at once

There is no paper that matches the wedding suite blue exactly. I found one that is slightly darker and I'm hoping no one will notice at the reception. I'm printing menus on the paper I found.

Overall, I couldn't have gotten a more expensive and classic invitation for the price. (Posted on 12/26/2014)
Beautiful, very classy Review by Nat
The invitation I chose is of superior quality and turned out very beautiful. I have another wedding I'm planning and plan to visit the site again. This will be my 4th order. I would recommend to anyone who is planning an event. Thanks. (Posted on 7/5/2014)
Thermography and Pearlized Paper Exquisite! Review by Pretty in Pink
I am so happy I chose this invitation ...I agonozied over invitations on the American Wedding site for months because they were all so beautiful. I even ordered samples but not this one. The final invitation was wonderful...I ordered pink with wine ink. My only caution is be careful when you choose your font. I used PzanerONE and the names were a little hard to read though I made then as big as possible. (Posted on 11/20/2013)
Excellent Product Review by nablair
My fiance and I ordered this style invitation in the bronze color with black font for our October wedding. We also ordered the inner envelopes lined in black as well as reception cards and rsvp cards. We are both VERY happy with the product. The cardstock is nice and thick (doesn't feel cheap like some other samples), the pearlized coating is very elegant and classy and the bronze color is perfect for a fall wedding like ours! The damask print gives the invitation an added formality and is perfect for traditional formal weddings. All of the products coordinate very nicely. For the price, these were definitely worth ordering and we have gotten a lot of compliments. Would highly recommend it! (Posted on 6/26/2013)
Great for the Price Review by Hawaii Bride
I was very pleased with my invitations. I loved the Ecru color with the black envelope lining. It made such an elegant and classy look. I 've received so many compliments on these. They look much better in person thean they do online. It is a nice heavy paper and did not feel cheap like many other samples I ordered. (Posted on 4/23/2012)
