Great Big Ideas for Little Touches – Ceremony Supplies

When planning a wedding, a checklist is very important.  Chances are things like finding THE dress and the perfect venue went on the list first.  When making a checklist and wedding budget it is easy to forget the little things and have to rush around and choose the first item you see at the last minute.  This is a list of some of those little items that are easily forgotten.  Ordering these items in advance usually means that many of them can be personalized to provide the happy couple with a beautiful keepsake of their wedding day.

Ceremony Supplies

For the Ring Bearer – Every ring bearer needs a ring pillow. You can tie fake rings or ring charms to the pillow and still have the best man hold onto the real thing for safekeeping. Adding a boutonniere to the floral order for the ring bearer is an often overlooked detail as well.

For the Flower Girl – Ordering a wreath for the flower girl’s hair is a very pretty way to make a flower girl feel included.  Every flower girl needs something to carry whether it be a tulle or floral pom, a flower girl basket or a wand so she can feel like a fairy princess.  Be sure to order flowers or petals for the basket.  Some venues do not allow petals to be strewn on the floor or insists that they be silk petals so they don’t damage the floor.  The venue should always be consulted before ordering flower petals for this purpose and reason.

Unity Candle Ceremony/Sand Ceremony Supplies – A unity candle ceremony requires two tapered candles and a unity candle.  Be sure to have matches on hand as well.  Some religious venues will have other candles lit as a source of fire but it is better to be safe than sorry.  Sand ceremonies are sometimes done in place of the unity candle ceremony. A sand ceremony requires 2 colors of sand, 2 pouring vases and a larger vase.

Tossing Rice – Many couples now choose to use bubbles or the more environmentally friendly birdseed instead of having rice for guests to toss. Some venues do not allow rice or even birdseed so it is something that should be discussed in advance.
