Planning a Blue Wedding – Blue Details

Blue Wedding Attire

It is oh so easy for brides to incorporate blue into their wedding attire. After all who hasn’t heard that brides should wear something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue? A popular way to add pop of color is with jewel toned royal blue heels for the brides that are often accented with jewel covered buckles or shoe jewelry.  Brides can add sashes of all shades of blue to their gowns and many veils are available with piping in a variety of colors.  Amethyst and sapphire jewelry is also available in varying shades of blue.

Wedding Invitations and Paper

Try just having the details on your invitations show off the blue you have chosen like in these Brittany Wedding Invitations. Try using stationery with a soft blue backing and accents and embellishments in the other color or colors in your wedding palette.

Flowers to Consider

Delphiniums and hydrangeas are great starting points for blue bouquets and arrangements. Daisies and peonies pair well with blue flowers.  Try using multiple shades of hydrangeas in a ball shaped bouquet.  Add a touch of blue to any hand tied bouquet with a royal blue ribbon. Try a ribbon with white polka dots for a whimsical touch.  Transparent blue vases and containers containing beads, coral or sand make for a beautiful addition to your beach themed wedding. Votive candles in transparent blue votive holders make for a pretty blue sparkle on your wedding reception tables.

Blue can add so many different dimensions to your wedding color palette.  Use it as an accent or as the main color and let your imagination run wild.
