Gold – No Longer an Accent Color

It seems like since forever, brides have used gold and silver for small accents at their weddings. Many weddings feature two colors with small splashes of gold or silver somewhere in the color palette.  In the stemware, in the non-floral bouquet, as a jewelry selection.

However, this year aside from the ever popular mint, gold is taking center stage as a main color not just merely an accent.

It doesn’t need to be the ultra-shiny gold that catches every ray of sun shine and hurts your eyes to look at. Brushed gold and almost copper shades are increasingly popular and fun to work with.

Naturally the ways we mentioned above are ideal to incorporate gold but, there are many others. For instance the sequined bridesmaid dress in all gold will certainly be a beautiful choice. The bride with the short dress will look daring with glittery gold heels!

Don’t forget the first thing your guests see is the wedding invitation. This is the time to introduce your guests to the wedding colors and theme or style. The American Wedding offers multiple choices for the bride who wants gold. A layered invitation would allow for extra drama with gold printing on black heavyweight paper. This style is both bold and stylish.

Moroccan Stripe Wedding Invitation is also an excellent choice. This flat panel card has several stripes of hot pink, orange, brown and taupe alongside a band of gold. Perfect choice for the bride who wishes to have a bright color palette.

Table runners in a deep gold look stunning when paired with gold dipped wine glasses. This is a perfect way to showcase an earth tone palette without everything looking washed out. Brushed gold plates or chargers at every place setting will look darling especially alongside a jewel toned napkin.
