Laura + Jason: A Blissful Match

After living in the Big Apple for about six years, Laura decided to take a risk and join Match.com in January of 2010. One particular profile caught her eye, one whose tagline read, “Help me clean my plate in a nice restaurant.” A food-fanatic, Laura immediately sent a message to the owner of the profile.

A week later, Laura and Jason met at Bar Henry in the West Village and found an instant connection. Their date lasted well over six hours and the two have not stopped talking ever since!

On a typical Wednesday of April 2011, Laura returned to her apartment to find a series of grand surprises. First, her dog, Oliver (or “Ollie”), who’d been staying with her parents in Philadelphia, raced to meet her, tuxedo-clad, at the door. After receiving a slurry of puppy love (we assume!), Laura looked around to find beautiful flowers, mini cupcakes that spelled out “I Love You,” the song “Better Together” by Jack Johnson playing, and, of course, Jason. He invited her to join him on the couch, where he presented her with a photo book he’d had printed, filled with their pictures and love story. The last page featured a picture of him on one knee with a caption that read, “Will you marry me?” In case you couldn’t guess, Laura said YES.

Over the past year and a half, the two lovebirds have been lucky enough to travel the world. From zip-lining in Puerto Rico and eating their way through Spain and Portugal to tasting wines in Napa Valley and partying with Mickey Mouse in Disney World, they’ve shared countless special moments together.

Despite all of their amazing adventures abroad, surely their wedding day ranks up there in the most-memorable category! Laura and Jason’s venue, The Channel Club, set the tone for their bayside wedding in June 2012. They selected Bliss wedding day stationery from The Green Kangaroo, with coral ink to complement their summery coral and white decor. The florist chose beautiful coral flowers for the ceremony and cocktail hour and white, romantic flowers and candles for the reception.

Laura thinks the setting made their wedding stand out, as the ceremony overlooked a serene bay filled with yachts. They added several personal touches to make their event truly unique, such as a bookshelf with pictures of themselves throughout their lives, a custom cake topper, and, of course, personalized stationery.

To ensure that their guests would have fun at the reception, they had their DJ bring along a live drummer, set up a photo booth for a little goofing off, and ended the evening with a scrumptious candy bar.

Laura and Jason cherish so many particular memories from their big day: getting ready with their family and friends, seeing each other for the first time, taking pictures on the beach and dock, the beautiful ceremony, and the surprise post-cocktail hour dress change! An entire day filled with love… what more could a bride and groom ask for?!
