Looking for some clever decor to go with our most popular beach wedding invites. Well, today we’re sharing a couple of DIY project ideas to carry that same seaside flair from your invitation to the dinner table.
Dress up table cards by layering onto a natural woven paper. Gather a small bamboo stick, ribbon, and a natural embellishment of your choice. We’re using a sand dollar, but a starfish or seashell would also fit in perfectly.
Using a hot glue gun, adhere your sand dollar to the front of your table card. On the backside, press your bamboo stick into a thin line of hot glue and hold in place until dry.
Tie a pretty knot at the base of your table card for a finished look.
Display your table card in a beach glass colored bottle or a little sand bucket to keep with your theme.
We also made coordinating place card holders! Using a 1 x 5.5 inch strip of natural woven paper, two dabs of glue, and a sand dollar, we whipped up this simple cutie that would work perfectly with a flat place card.
Simply crease your strip 2″ in from either end and then again at .5″ in from one end only. Place a small dot or line of glue along the shortest (.5″) flap and adhere to the taller flap creating an equally sided triangle. Hold until dry.
Now glue your sand dollar to the tallest side of your triangle, but be sure to glue near the bottom to leave room at the top to slip in your place card. The place card should rest between the flap and the sand dollar.
Now adorn your tables with your handmade table stationery featuring natural elements from the shore!
