Couples everywhere are jumping on the food cart bandwagon. A particularly popular trend emerging at weddings everywhere is the end of the night food cart. Fast forward to the end of the evening, dinner was hours ago and your guests have been dancing and drinking for a while now. They are hungry and growing weary. What a nice gesture it would be to send them home with a last minute treat. Your guests will be pleased with the thoughtfulness of providing them with a goodbye snack. Also, it is likely to take them back to their college days of stopping by their favorite fast food stand before going home after a long pub crawl. We have some suggestions on how you may say farewell to guests with a full belly and a smile.
First, it’s pretty obvious that most food carts will not fit inside your venue. So have them show up toward the end of the reception. They will be a sight for sore eyes as your guests make their exit
A few different suggestions are:
- Taco cart- A great way to revitalize your guests for their drive home.
- Hot Dog Cart- Easy to eat one handed as they exit.
- Carnival Stand- Filled full of popcorn, cotton candy, and caramel apples.
- Doughnut Stand- Fresh warm doughnuts will send your guests off cozy and warm.
- Coffee Cart- An especially great idea if you have hired a doughnut stand.
There are several places that don’t have street vendors so hiring out a food stand may be impossible or extremely expensive. But that isn’t a reason to fret. If you love the idea of the food carts but for whatever reason are not able to take this task on, you still have a way of wowing your guests with snacks as they exit.
Ask your servers to come out with trays of cookies and glasses of milk at the end of the night. A milk and cookie nightcap is a comforting way to say farewell. If you were thinking more along the lines of sending them home with something with a little more substance, see if your favorite burger joint can whip up a large amount of sliders. Package them up in cute little cake boxes and pass them out near the door.
If you are able to do it, hiring a food cart is an easy way to wow your guests. The work is left on someone else and the clean up too! And it is definitely something your guests will be talking about for years to come.
