- Beautiful...but postage beware Review by Shonda
The pic online truly does not do it justice. Trust me when I say order the sample to see it in person. AND it is super reasonably priced and doesn't require double envelopes, which I loved. I've had more than one person tell me this is the most beautiful invite they've ever received. I am truly happy with the appearance of the invite, the print job, the great price, the time it took to process the order, and shipment.
The ONLY thing I can say negative about this order is that the specs of this product do not indicate that extra shipping is needed to send this invite. It is considered a "large envelope" and not even the 66 cent wedding stamp is enough for this envelope. I even had a mailing specialist look at the piece to determine the "official" postage required to send this invite, and it takes TWO stamps instead of just one. So it cost almost twice as much to mail this invitation as it did to print it. It killed out invite budget into the ground.
This was very upsetting to find out after the fact of receiving them. I had searched the product specs online before ordering to make sure it didn't require extra postage because some of them clearly stated they did (the note says: Special size requires extra postage. Check with your post office before mailing.), but this product did not have that warning and I took it on faith that it would mail with normal postage.
Hoping the rest of you might learn from my mistake and check with your post office before you purchase and print invites without knowing all the specs. We learned a lesson the hardest of ways and ended up paying more than $200 in postage when our order of 250 invites was less than $200. Not cool.
Anyway, hoping this PSA about envelope size will keep others from the same hastle and inconvenience that my fiance and I had to battle during an already VERY stressful time. It was definitely our fault for not checking with the USPS on our own, but I hope that the product specs might be updated with a "postage beware" to keep others from making the same mistake we did. Cheers and best wishes to all! (Posted on 11/6/13)
