Help! Color Confusion

'Roo Lori's Ask a RooQ: I picked my wedding colors a few months ago thinking we were going to have a summer wedding, but our venue changed and now we’ll be pushing our date to April 2014 (boo!)… so I really want to change my colors, but my girls already bought their dresses!  It’s my day and I think I’ll regret it if I don’t change to the colors I really want, but I don’t want to be a bridezilla either.  Please help!  – Lacey from KY

A: Oohh, Lacey! This is a hard question and a hard situation. I do not envy you! In the long run, you don’t want to have any regrets about your wedding. If you truly feel that switching your colors will make you happy and will be the best overall decision for your day, then do it. Ultimately, you should do what you want. But – and, this is really big BUT – you should do it while still having the utmost respect and consideration for your bridesmaids. Being a bridesmaid is not an inexpensive task. It can be hard to purchase one bridesmaid dress (+ shoes), much less two. Keep this in mind when breaking the news to your girls. The sweetest thing to do would be to offer to purchase their new dresses for them. If you can’t swing that, you may at least want to split the cost with them.
