With only a little over three weeks (yes, weeks!) to go, I have been going, going, going non-stop to make sure all of our grand ideas come together successfully on September 15. It is crazy to think how fast time has flown by since we first set our date. If you follow me on Pinterest or Twitter (and if you don’t, what are you waiting for?!), you’ve likely seen a few updates and recent sneak peek photos of things I’m working on. As promised, though, here’s a closer look at how our custom wedding invitations came together…
We knew we wanted some sort of handmade aspect to our invitations. I’ve always enjoyed printmaking, so I gave Greg at Aardvark Screenprinting a call to see about having a screen burned with our custom design. They’re right down the street from my house in Raleigh, NC and both Greg and Mark are super nice guys; they printed my film and burned my screen in no time. And their print shop pup even greeted me at the door when I went to pick it up!
Of course, The Green Kangaroo printed my wedding invitations, but I left the main design off to be pulled by hand. The overall concept required me to screenprint each invitation. I also pulled about eighty prints onto patterned paper in our color scheme. From there, I simply cut and adhered individual pieces to make each invitation unique; there were not two alike!

More updates to come as we head into the last days leading up to our wedding! I won’t actually be posting as a bride for any of my Handmade Bride articles, but, rather, a newlywed wife! (It seems so wild, but in the very best way!) If you’re coming up on your date too, I’d love to hear about it.
