June Weddings

June is known as the marriage month. It seems like everyone wants to get married in June and with good reason as this is the month where according to one legend, June is named after Juno. Juno, was the goddess who ruled over marriage and of the married couple’s home. So it makes sense that people that this would be good luck. The tradition still stands. There are plenty of wonderful reasons to choose this month. Not only for the tradition of it being just the “thing to do” But for the beautiful floral options, lovely weather and vibrant color palettes!

June is the month with the longest daylight hours of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and in turn has the the shortest amount of daylight hours of the year in the Southern Hemisphere.

So for those of you here in the United States that want to party all night long, a June wedding is a terrific idea!

The traditional birthstone for June is pearl. So a great option is to adorn your hair, your flowers or yourself with pearls.

The birth flower is said to be the rose, sometimes reported as the honeysuckle. Roses are always blooming through-out the entire month of June and this month is sometimes referred to being the “rose month”.

Also, with this month being in the summer, your color palette can be as bright and whimsical as you like. Shades of punchy pinks, bright oranges and brilliant plums look terrific paired with stark whites and sunshiny yellows!

Because June is considered a popular month for weddings, it’s likely that you will experience top pricing from many of your vendors. There are times of the year that are considered “off-season” and prices can at those times be slightly less. June however is not one of those months. So this may not be the best time to have a very tight budgeted wedding.

Again because your wedding will be in the midst of “prime wedding season” you will definitely want to get everything booked as far in advance as possible.Wedding venues fill up quickly in the summer months. So be sure to get the date cleared and your deposit in as soon as you are able to.
