2009 Wedding Trends – Part 1

1. The Great Outdoors

Out door weddings were plentiful this year. They prove to be a very wise choice for several reasons. From those of you who try to have a more eco-friendly wedding to those of you who grew up down on the farm. If you’re a less is more kind of bride this is a great option since you can’t control nature, outdoor weddings keep decor and the like simple and laid-back.

2. New Centerpieces

Ok so maybe not just 2009 but recently we have been saying "Bye bye" to the three foot tall floral arrangements and 8 inch taper candles. Large glasses piled high with fresh fruit make a very bold and fresh statement. If flowers are a must look for shortly cropped blooms in metal tea tins.

3. Dessert Bars

These always go off without a hitch. You can have one with or without a cake! Use vintage china and set up a buffet style table by placing several small cakes and pies on stands of varying heights. Spread cookies and tarts out on paper doilies atop tiered cake stands.

4. Photo booths

Yeah, okay this has been a popular trend for a while but it seems to have some incredible sort of super staying power! You can rent one or make your own. The latest take on this trend is to have a large area set up like your own mini studio equipped with goofy props. (Think big sunglasses and brightly colored scarves)

5. Signature look

To keep everything fluid and so uniquely yours, design your monogram or make a custom logo. Choose an insignia that really shows your style as a couple. Opt even for something you two both like as a couple like bicycles. Customization is what makes your personal style consistent through out your wedding.
